Rowthiram ready

Jiiva has said that Rowthiram starring him and Shriya Saran has been wrapped up finally. The shooting of this film has been going on for the past two and half years and finally it has been completed. The delay has been attributed to Jiiva’s commitment in other projects including KV Anand’s Ko. However, the star has no regrets about the delay because Ko has earned him name and fame.
With Rowthiram’s shooting completed, the post production work has begun in full swing. Meanwhile, Jiiva has moved over to Nanban, the shooting of which is happening in Coimbatore.

UDAYANIDHI WAS NOT SATISFIED WITH MANMADHAN AMBU

Producer-actor Udayanidhi Stalin is very active on Twitter, the micro blogging web site. He answers most of the questions thrown at him coolly and with clarity. We share a few things that Udayanidhi had said with our readers:

Udayanidhi Stalin was asked what his reaction was after watching Manmadhan Ambu, which was directed by KS Ravi Kumar and starred Kamal Haasan, Madhavan, Trisha and others. His reply in Twitter was: “told them that I am not satisfied with the movie.” It may be mentioned here that Manmadhan Ambu was made on huge budget and the film hit the screens last year.

When a fan asked Udhayanidhi if he would go to the Mankatha audio launch on July 18th, he jocularly replied: “thala vandhaa indha Vaal pogum”

To a question on - who his favorite heroes are, Udhayanidhi reply was: “yenakku yellaa heroes yum pudikkum! Specially thala nd ilayathalabathy”

To a Tweet that “do you like asal movie” Udhayanidhi simply re-tweeted: “didn't like it”

'Podaa Podi' to move to Spain soon

Simbu seems to be all over the place. The actor seems to be managing his time perfectly with simultaneously doing three films and being cool with it! And let us not forget his singing schedules too. The actor was recently in Mysore to shoot for the first schedule of 'Osthi,' the Kollywood remake of 'Dabangg.'

Reports are now flowing in that 'Podaa Podi,' yet another flick which sees Simbu in the lead has wrapped up shooting from Chennai. What remains now for the team, are some scenes to be canned at Spain as well as some songs to be shot.

'Podaa Podi' sees Simbu in the lead with Varalaxmi Sarathkumar debuting into Kollywood.

Written and directed by Vignesh Shiva the film is a rom-com caper and with what Simbu is best at! A lot of importance has been given to the songs and the dance numbers which is sure to have some hip-hop and peppy dance numbers.

The film will also spring some surprises on the audience with Gautham Menon touted to play a cameo. The music for this film is by Dharan and sources close to the film reveal the songs have a fresh feel to it.

Of course, Simbu has crooned a couple of numbers with his friend and music director Yuvan wielding the mic for on of the songs. The title song is believed to have been belted out by Benny and Andrea Jeremiah!

Trisha did it only for Ajith

Trisha, in a recent interview to a Tamil magazine, has said that she agreed to star in Mankatha only because the film had Ajith playing the lead. The actress said that she loved to work with Ajith and hence decided to sign the dotted lines despite her role being small.
Trisha made it clear that her role in Mankatha will not be as significant as it was in Vinnaithaandi Varuvaya or Manmadhan Ambu but still she did it for Ajith.
On Ajith’s cooking at the Mankatha sets, Trisha said that he is a wonderful cook and Shalini is lucky to have him as her husband.

Arun Vijay pays sentimental visit

Arun Vijay who is currently shooting for Thadaiyara Thaaka, paid a visit to the Thiruvannamalai temple. It is a sentimental habit of his to obtain blessings for his ventures to become succesful by visiting this particular temple.
He says that he finds the place soothing and can lift his spirits even when he is going through bad phases in his life. Thadaiyara Thaaka is nearly 40% complete. There were some problems when Prachi Desai opted out of this project, but she has been replaced and it is expected to be smooth sailing from this point onwards.

Jiiva-Gautham Menon project

Gautham Menon is all set to direct Jiiva. The star had confirmed some days ago that he is to play the lead role in a film for which Gautham will wield the megaphone. This yet-to-be-named film will begin in August this year. The photo shoot has been planned on August 1st and the shooting will commence from August 5th, onwards.
Initially, the shooting will begin in Chennai and then the team will move on to the UK where a major portion will be shot. The movie will be produced by RS Infotainment.
Jiiva, who is riding high on the success of Ko, is thrilled at the prospect of working with one of the ace directors in the country.

VTV Ganesh in Osthi!

Ever since VTV Ganesh stole the show playing STR's  friend and mentor in Gautham Menon's Vinnayithandi Varuvayaa, he has become a regular in Silambarasan camp.
He played the role of STR's uncle and confidante in Vaanam.
Ganesh is now going to do Dharani directed Osthi, once again a STR film.
In this remake of Dabangg, Ganesh will be playing the drunken father of the heroine Richa.
Please note the same role was done by Mahesh Manjerekar in the original and it was one of the highlights of film.
Ganesh's "drunken act"  including his scenes with the cop played by Simbu will form the comedy track in the film.
Ganesh and STR comedy scenes are now being reworked by the director, to suit the Tamil audiences.

Aishwarya will be a beautiful mum: Sushmita

Aishwarya Rai will be a beautiful mother, says Sushmita Sen, a mother of two.
'Aishwarya has always been known to be a beautiful woman. She has brought great laurels to our country. Both of us are international winners. She is a beautiful woman who is going to be a mother, and that will increase her beauty manifold,' Sushmita told reporters here.
'Whether you become a mother biologically or through heart, you feel beautiful entering that phase of your life. She will be a very beautiful mother,' she said.
'I am very happy for her, Abhishek and the entire family. God bless the baby,' Sushmita said.
The actress was at an event to announce the collaboration of her pageant 'I AM She' with Wadhawan Lifestyle.
She reacted strongly to reports that some producers planned to add a no-pregnancy clause in their film contracts.
'I would show the producer the door if he gets a clause like that,' she said.
'If you do not believe that I am a professional, don't sign me, and if you believe that I'm a professional, don't question my professional integrity and tell me about my personal life.
'If anyone would tell me that this a time span when you cannot get pregnant, I wouldn't tolerate that,' she added.

Trisha in Ramya Krishnan movie, rubbish!

Recently there were rumours doing the rounds in many newspapers and news channels that good time pals, Ramya Krishnan would rope in Trisha to do a film under her banner.

Ramya's husband Vamsi is quite a popular name in Tollywood. Some reports also suggested that it would be Ramya's first venture into producing Tamil films with her husband Vamsi taking the director's chair.

But now it looks like it was just smoke and nothing has materialized. Ramya and Trisha have been bonded for many years now - being clicked together at parties, charity events and what not. The recent rumours about the two coming together for a film seem to have miffed them.

None but Trisha's mom has rubbished such stories as rumours pointing out clearly that none involved have confirmed the news. But now one thing is clear Trisha will not be acting in a Ramya Krishnan production for now...

Venghai ready for release

Looks like 'Venghai', a Dhanush-starrer directed by Hari, has come out of a legal tussle it faced last week, for the producers Vijaya Productions are now planning to release the film on July 7.
According to sources, a settlement has been reached between Eka Chakra Media (P) Ltd (which claimed rights for the title 'Venghai') and Vijaya Productions, following which the movie is gearing up to hit the screens.
Last week, the release of the film was stayed by the Madras High Court due to a contesting claim by Eka Chakra Media. The company said based on its application, South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC) had registered the title Venghai in August last year. The registration was valid for one year and a further renewal of six months.
However, Vijaya Productions, director Hari and Sun Pictures, which had purchased the negative rights, had given the title to a film as Venghai, to be released in July, knowing fully well that the title had already been registered by Eka Chakra.
Staying the film's release, Justice V Ramasubramanian said that despite the title having been registered in favour of Eka Chakra, the very same name had been given to the film made by Vijaya Productions.
